Feminist Theatre

Feminist theatre is a genre that came to be widely recognised in the seventies in the wake of the Women's Liberation Movement, and it is focused on plays and production that work against the marginalism of women throughout history. This involves women in all areas such as home life, work, school, and other settings throughout time. I would say that Trifles could be described as feminist theatre because it touches on the way that the men treated women during the time in which the play was written. It showed that even though they weren't given the chance, the women actually were able to figure out the case more fully than the men.
